Need Some Help

Posted by BusanBlack - October 9th, 2022

So of course I can go onto Youtube or the like, and get information from there, but I can't really engage that way and so I wanted to be able to directly ask. How does everyone else make music? Like from what I've seen no matter what, new or even used, the equipment to either record or computer software seems too expensive. I might have 20 bucks saved every couple months after all has been paid and done. I remember one time being told off as a kid because of my sound quality being crap and I asked them what they used and they said it wall repurposed or reused equipment and an old computer and didnt cost them more than 200 bucks. When I was a kid 200 bucks was a half months worth of groceries so that was close to impossible.

Time to time I'll go to the pawn shop, maybe not the cheapest (but cheaper than guitar center), and look at all the gear and equipment and I know Ill never afford it. So, I wonder if anyone has frugal hacks on how to record or produce music. I feel like I hit a wall and just need a boost over, ya know?

I genuinely use the trial of FL studio and just make all of my stuff in one sitting

Learn what you are doing really well in FL Studio Trial and you can make something that sounds amazing in one sitting. If you can leave your computer running on FL Studio for days at a time then you might be able to work for several days, although I find that I never really need anywhere close to that much time once I figure out what I am doing for a piece.
Hope that helped!

So first, thank you so damn much for responding because I'm glad to get any help at all.
Second, I need to try out FL studio again. I tried the trial years ago once and I did get frustrated at the no saving option, because I'm not usually able to stay at my computer for long periods. But I am also interested in the process that helps you to start out. Like I am just curious how other artists' minds work and what steps they take to get into full rhythm. I've watched Youtube channels on solo music producers giving out tips on making music and even some show how they go from scratch to finished.

I think I feel like I'm in a slump and I want to grow but having a hard time getting there.
Thank you for your help and I'm thinking Ill to get back into the FL studio trial and start from there.
